Arkansas farmers and ranchers currently adhere to sound environmental practices, as evidenced by the following:

- 85% of forest owners have voluntarily adopted a system of "best management practices" in the interest of environmental protection.

- Two-thirds of the state's poultry growers are voluntarily complying with certified nutrient management plans.

- 98% of all swine operators and 100% of the egg's producers attend annual manure management training sessions as condition of their state-issued permit.

- 75% of the state's dairy farms adhere to a voluntary established manure management plan.
